Props include

  • A lantern

This lantern was used to create an eiry yet beautiful scenery aroudn Lydia. Although really difficult to work with and a pain to edit, working with a different form of lighting was very much a challenging learning curve. We have learnt that working with such light has proved difficult but once fixed looks prestine and creates more emotion to a scene, which is why we have used it here.

This prop proved challenging to work with because of the size. We struggled to get Lydia into a frame with both body and prop on show. This was the perfect shot for using both and also being able to achieve the warm ,fierce lighting which we had wanted to.

  • A candle

A simple tealight candle to use for our photo shoot and video. We wanted to film more scenes but it proved difficult with the lighting issue which we had. We tried to incorporate this lit candle (fire) into our photo shoots instead as a still image was easier to edit with regards to lighting.

This also added to beauty aspect of Lydia's cover as fire is a natural element that is beautiful and part of nature. As it that of Lydia's beauty and the fire (candle) symbolises this.

  • Jewellery

The heart pendant necklace and engagement ring.

A small added touch was given to the video with what Lydia was wearning. Such a fine detail allowed us to add a little extra knowledge about Lydia's past into the video. In the video we see her playing the piano and she is wearing an engagement ring. This is a subtle gesture in playing but actually is significant to the video.

The heart pendant is actually a gift that Lydia got given but we used this to symbolised that she once loved and that the weight of the loss/ rejection is still hung tightly around her neck, almost as if she is trapped and cannot lose the love that once destroyed her.
