Here I need to decide how I am going to make the advertisement. There are a few rules I have to follow and I also need to follow the designs of the digipak to make everything match.

I must make sure that:

 

  • The fonts used match those which are on the digipak, this shows continuity throughout

  • The colours use also match those which are on the digipak, this also shows contitnuity. These colours will relate to our artist and therefore catch attention of a fan which recognises this

  • I need to  include the artists name and album cover name to make sure people know what it is they're looking at

  • A website adress needs to be added so that the veiwer knows where to find more information out

  • Finally we need to include a photgraph of the artist, preferably from the same photoshoot as the digipak photographs

Digipak

This is my digipak that contains photographs from three different photoshoot, a studio one of our model, a lanscape photoshoot of backgrounds and a photoshoot I did while on the video location. I am going to take the photograph for the poster from the photoshoot I did on set because I think that this will tie in with the video best to show continuity. I am also going to take the text from the album cover because I think that this is clear and simple for people to read and get the correct information from.

Poster Main Image

Next I need to pick the main back image for the poster, this needs to be appropriate to show the correct image for the artist, I need to make sure that the photograph portrays her in the way I want to be portraied because I want her to looks, innocent and a good roll model for teenage girls.

 

These are my main choices for a background photograph for the advertisement.

The quaility on this photograph has been dropped when it has been put into wix however it is a great photograph when opened in Photoshop or another photo veiwing tool. I like this photograph because it shows continuity with the music video and the digipak because of the fire which is in both the digipak and music video. Its also the same location as the digipak and music video. She looks innocent which is the look I wish to create.

I next looked at using this one because this also shows continuity with the digipak and music video with it being the same location as the music video and also the fire shows the relation. She again has the same facial expression on this photograph as the one before which gives of the innocent but sad look. This look also works well because the facial expression gives hints at the narration of the music video because she looks sad and heart broke which is what the song is about. The issue with this photograph is that it is square which doesn't follolw the conventions of a normal poster. Therefore if I wanted to use this image I would have to make it portait to fit the common conventions.

After compairing these two images I decided to go with the first image because it fits the common conventions, shows contiunity and creates the correct look I wanted to create.

Album Cover

I next decided to include the album cover on the poster because I found most artists do this on their posters from research. The advertisement is to sell her and her album so if I include the album cover on the digipak it will allow people to regonise the album from the poster or the poster from the album.
