Advertisement General Research

Here are a few music advertisements which are from many different genres but which are all trying to do the same thing which can be to sell a concert or something to do with that music artist. Posters also try to get the veiwer to research into the music artist further by leaving links to the artists website or social media site.

The common conventions on each advertisement are the band on artists name, the albums name and also where you can purchess the album from. These are very imporant aspects for a poster because it gets all the information across to the veiwer without over complicating and crowing the advertisement. If there is too much information on the advertisement then the veiw will not be able to scan and get the information needed, especially when the veiwer will usually be walking past the advertisement or flicking past in a magazine.

The Wombats

Here for 'The Wombats' advertisement is brightly coloured to catch attention from the veiwer, happy summer colours have been chosen to remind the veiwer of happy summer times which will attract them to listen to the bands music. It also shows what the band is like happy and colourful. They have then chosen one different font for the band name title to make it stand out and catch attention of fans. They have then chosen a simple block text for the rest of the writing to make it simple to read because it is important information. They have chose specific colouring on the writing to make it bold and stand out. All the writing is in uppercase lettering which suggests to me at it is making the audience look like its demanding to be read. The photograph on the advertisement looks playful and happy, this blends in with the rest of the advertisement making it all match.
