Piano Chord Writing

I wanted to write our own music as well as the music video because then it will match the lyrics exactly. This will hopefully enhance the lyrics and make them give the emotional effect that I want them to have

This is the verse.

I decided to use the sustain pedal for a softer more melancholy sound and started on a minor chord because it sounds sadder and mirrored the themes in the song. The simple two chord verse structure represents the two people in the relationship the sad girl (Am) and the boy who doesn't care about her (F- which is a major chord). That's the bass line for the verse, it repeats throughout the verse and creates a simplistic backdrop to a more haunting melody
