Music Video
Marketing and Distribution
Music videos are made in order to promote an artist and their music. However we need ways to find out about these videos and to view them. Marketing and distribution is a very important part of hearing about the certain artist’s video and music.
Push Media
Tv - Audience is directly exposed to whatever is on tv therefore they are forced to watch it without turning the tv itself off.
Companies are using the Internet to deliver information push-style. Probably the oldest and most widely used push technology is e-mail. This is a push technology because you receive mail whether you ask for it or not -- that is, the sender pushes the message to the receiver.

Record Labels

EMI records are a world famous record company, they have some of the world’s biggest stars signed to their company. They make a lot of money but because of the quantity of artists they have signed they won’t be able to focus on each individual artist. They’re good at what they do and know how to sell an artist. However they focus a lot more on the image and selling the artist as a whole rather than focusing on the music and what being an artist is actually about, but they are just giving audiences what they want. They wouldn’t be making so much money if it wasn’t for the audience buying their product so it’s the audience who wants the artist as a whole image as well as their music. I don't think that my artist would fit with this record lable because they control a lot of the artist and I want my artist to be in control of her own image.

These are just a few of this record labels artists, I have highlighted some of the most famous as you can see they have world famous massive stars signed to them. However some of these artists started of wanting to be independent artists such as Bastille, Cage The Elephant and Artic Monkeys but they want to sell their music and if changing their image means they will get a bigger name for themselves then they will agree to be signed to a large record label. However a lot of these artists music was a lot better and completely different before they did get signed which shows these large companies go for the mainstream.
Debt Records

Debt Records are an independent company, their signed artists are a lot less known than EMI’s artists, however Debt Records artist’s quality of music is significantly better. This can be because there’s a lot less artists in this record label so Debt Records can concentrate on each individual artist better. Also they let their artists control their music, Debt just give them advice.

As you can see there are a lot less artists signed to Debt Records but this gives them to work closely with each artist to make them the best they can be with their music.
Communion Records

Communion records is also an independent record label, they concentrate one each individual artist/band a lot more than other record labels. They also let their artists control their own image and music but help them whilst they do. I think my artist would best fit with this record label.

As you can see they even concentrate on their artists more when adding them to their website, every other record label has just listed their artists whereas here Communion are even selling their artists in a good way here. Again these aren’t world famous artists but their still amazing musicians.
