Music Video Editing

Here are the steps taken to edit my music video, I wanted to keep it natural and simple. I didn't want to over complicate the video by making it over edited. My first step was lining up which parts of the music video I wanted with the recorded song. I then added the editing afterwards.

1.

First of all I wanted to add a title and my artists name at the begging of my music video, this is because I used my research to find that this is common in independent music videos. I added the text and then used spacing to correct it. I used two different fonts so people don't think there all as one. I added this because my artist isn't a big artist I want her name shown to people as much as possible, this will allow people to keep seeing it.

2.

Next I used the lightness setting on 'Colour Balance HLS' to turn down the lightness because it was over exposed because there was too much bright light in this shot.

3.

Here I used rotation to turn this shot to be this way up because it added a better effect.

4.

I then added several of these opacity fades with a fade to black throughout my video to give a sense of smoothness throughout the video so everything flows. I then postioned the fades so they dont overlap the orgional shot to much.

5.

I used the opacity fade again to add an image of her playing the piano over the top of a shot of her. I added this because the piano shows that shes a musican as well as a singer which give her more of a like apeal. It also breaks up the music video so there isn't just shots of her singing.

6.

I  added another fade using the red and white dress to show how the white shows her vunrablity and red coveys love and passion.

6.

I added a fade of the piano at the top of this shot so that the bottom shot was still visable.

7.

Here  I increased the exposure because even though this shot is meant to be dark the contrast between the expose in this shot and the others is to large.

8.

Here I used Adobe Premier to add light rays to make more attention be drawn to the candle. I did this by using a dynamic link connection to connect my clip to after effects (created by right clicking on the clip in premiere and selecting "use as after effects composition") then I just used an effect called "light rays" and put it on the candle.

This is my Premier editing of the light rays.

Firstly I went into After Effects and used a dynamic link connection to connect your clip to after effects (created by right clicking on the clip in premiere and selecting "use as after effects composition") then I just used an effect called "light rays" and put it on the candle.
