Music Video
Editing Attempt 1
Firstly I needed to edit the album cover photograph which was done in a photograph studio because we wanted a white background. I then edited the rest of the photographs on the digipak which where done on location either at The Vicitorian Swimming Baths where we shot our music video or on a park.
Album Cover Edit
1.

This is the original image I want to use for the album cover, as you can see it has bad quality and lighting which I will need to fix in Photoshop. I chose this photograph because it portrays the innocent, pure look I wanted of our artist, also shows her features clear.
2.
First of all I opened the photograph in camera raw so that I could edit the basic details. I cropped the photograph so that it was square because I found in my research that most album covers are square. I then changed the exposure and lightening to brighten the photograph and correct the lightening issues.

3.
Then I went on the detail tab and turned the sharpness up to make the photograph clearer. However I didn’t want everything sharpened therefore I kept hold of shift and turned up the masking, this sharpens only the important detail such as hair and eyes rather than also sharpening the noise in the photograph. Finally I turned up the luminance because this gives her the air brushed look because it smooth’s the noise in the photograph making the overall photograph softer.

4.
This is my photograph after I have altered the basic settings, it is now much clearer and is starting to look how I want. Now I need to add the artist name, album title and sharpen the eyes because in research I have always fine the eyes are the sharpest point.

5.
I then added a clipped curve on a white layer which I then used a black brush to highlight the hair. I then added another curve but this time a darkened one I used this to paint on dark edges which will draw attention towards the artist.

6.
Next I used a highpass filter on a soft lighting effect and drew on the eyes to brighten them and add more colour into them. I then used the sharpening tool to sharpen them further. Finally I added the colour look up soft warming which adds a warm pink colouring making the photograph look more feminine and warm.

7.
I then used simple, bold white text to add her name so that people recognise the artist or can find out more about her. I put a white layer mask on the text and used a black brush to remove the writing were her head was so that the text looks like it is behind her.

8.
Finally I used the same font for the album title but changed the colour to a grey so that it separates this text from the artist’s name.

Top Right Edit
1.
This is the photograph I chose for the top right because I think I ties in with the music video because this photograph was taken on the same location. The location was dark and therefore the camera quality has dropped and there is a lot of noise on the photograph which I will need to edit in Photoshop.

2.
The first step I did to improve my image was to change the basic settings and the second thing was to turn up my sharping, for my masking I held down the alt key to sharpen just the important features like the eyes and too leave the noise. I then turned up the luminance to smoothen the noise and skin.

3.
Next I edited the eyes to make the sharp and stand out, I went on to filter then other, then High Pass, then I changed it too soft light and drew on top of the eyes too add high light and colour.
4.
I then added hue/saturation and chose a brighter blue colour and then used a curve to just draw the colour onto the eyes. I added a curve around the edges too darker then drawing all the attention towards the light. Next I drew on some of the flame light where it already was to enhance it, using the colour pick tool to select the flame coloour.

5.

I then added an effect on called soft warming to warm the photograph up even more. Also it adds to the soft light effect off the candle.

Bottom Photograph Edit
1.
First of all I opened this photograph because I wanted the trees in the background I thought that it added a more mystrious effect to help build up a background photograph.

2.
Next I opened a photograph of some water from the same shoot and used a layer mask to add it over the top of the trees.

3.
After that I added the colour look up ‘drop blues’ to blend all the colours together because the trees were too bright for the water.

4.
Then I added motion blur and used a white layer mask and drew on with black to just add the motion blur to the background and the edges of the water.

5.

After that I added the colour look up ‘late sunset’ to add the purple glow. I turned the opacity down to 30% on it so it’s not to overbearing.
6.
I added a white layer mask and drew on parts of the water with a black brush to remove the colour look up. This makeing parts look like they have lighter reflections, making the water look more realistic.

Putting Digipak Together
1.
Before I started putting my digipak together I made a template so I know where to put certain photographs or text.

2.
I then added the album cover where the front cover of the album would be.

3.
I then added my background photograph to the bottom, I had to change the image size on Photoshop to make it fit the bottom without being stretched.

4.
I then added a photograph from the park photoshoot I did which is from the same photo shoot the bottom photograph is from. I didn't change this other than adding a colour look up called soft warming because I used this on the other photographs therefore it makes all the photographs merge together.

5.
After that I added the top right photograph I already editted however I also added the colour look up soft warming to this to match the other photographs.

6.
Then I used the shape layouts on a 20% opasicty to make a CD shape for where the CD will go.

7.
Next I did the same using the shape layouts on a 20% opasicty to make a box for were writing will go so that it is clearer to read rather than the background being a distraction.

8.
Finally I added the lyric from her hit song in clear black writing, I also added a message in clear black writing from the artist so that the fans feel more connected to her.
