Advertisement Editing Attempt 1

Next we tried another attempt at our poster because we felt that the first one didnt keep continuity with the digipak which is something we need to keep because fans need to be able to recognize whats to do with out artist. We also felt that there wasn't enough information on the first poster.

1.

Firstly I picked this photograph because I felt it fitted well with the music video and digipak. I also found from research that most posters are A4. Therefore I picked a landscaped photograph so that it would fit in with the common conventions of a poster. I firstly opened the photograph with the format camera raw so I could adjust the basic alterations. I changed the exposure so that the photograph could be seen clear from a distance. Also I changed the whites, blacks and contrast for the same reason.

2.

Next I found that from research if the artist is on the poster they have the perfect look. Therefore I need to make her skin and features look airbrushed but still natural because I want our artist to be set as a good role model. To do this I turned to sharpness up to 60 to make sure the photograph is clear. I then kept hold of the shift button and turned the masking up to 50, this just selects the hard lines such as the eyes and ignores all the bits. This means only the important parts are sharpened. I then turned the luminance up to 50, this softened the noise on the photograph just softening the skin to make her look air brushed. It also adds a soft effect which makes the whole image with the candle merge together.

3.

This is now the image with the basic adjustments, I can now add all the poster information.

4.

I then added the artists name with the album name at the top in clear, simple text so it is easy to read and see. I used lines to separate the text so that people wouldn’t get confused by it thinking the name and album cover are one. I chose to put it on the right side because this was the largest space and doesnt cover over the artist.

5.

I then added an eye catching ‘NEW ALBUM’ and the date that it is out so that people know the correct information of when you can buy it.

6.

Then I used a 20% grey opacity to add a large box for the text to go in so that it stands out more rather than having distraction from the background photograph. Also I added a darker black box on a 30% opacity for the album cover photograph to go into so that it is easily seen.

7.

I found from research that the album cover is usually included therefore I added my album cover on top of the black box. The black box gives it an outline to make it stand out more because if that grabs the attention of a viewer of fan then they are more likely to go out and buy it.

8.

I then added information that a single hit is included on the album. Also I added information of where you can purchase the album. I kept the text the same so that it is simple and easy to read. I added an exclamitive on where you can buy the album trying to pursaude people to vist that site an purchase the album.

9.

Finally I added images of places where people can buy the album because this promotes the music companies as well as our album.
