Music Video
We were inspired by music videos in our research so looked at creating quite a scenic video that creates a feeling of insecurity within the empathy of the character that we are trying to portray through Lydia's song/ story.
We were particularly inspired by the video 'Another Love' by Tom Odell, as it shows the feeling of love and loss that we want to try and portray.
However, this video is not the fighting side which we want to show in our video.
Lydia's song meaning is that of being able to fight after you've been pushed down and being able to fight through the pain of the worst of break ups. We will try to portray this through that of an emotional connection for the audience as this will help towards creating a bond between artist and listener. ​​
Our Music Video Ideas
A Difficult Love
We are also inspired by Christina Perri's music video for 'Jar of Hearts' as the video is definitely emotionally sympathetic. This video almost creates sythetic personalisation with the audience as it creates the feeling of the audience and artist being on the same page in the story.
We want to interpret the idea of having empathy with the artist in our video and this can go towards our music video ideas.
As the meaning of 'Hold me' is so deep and passionate we want there to be this feeling of empathy just like that of this music video.
With this video we want to try to portray that emotional connection but almost twist it so you don't know what has happened already and the past and the story behind the heartbreak is a mystery to the audience.
A Broken Heart
The main two people who inspire me for our music video is Gabrielle Aplin and Lauren Aquilina, Gabrielles lyrics really inspired me and the music video is also the exact kind of look that I want to create. Lauren Aquilina creates really amazing music videos.
Gabrielle Aplin
This video has the exact filter that I think would suit what we're trying to create, I think if we could add a look like that it would really add to the sad effect of the song. Also I hope to use a piano to back our song so I like the fact that they have actually filmed her on the piano, this adds an elegant factor to the music video because the piano is regarded as an elegant instrument but also it shows that she can actually play instruments so that she is a talent musican as well as an amazing singer.
Lauren Aquilina
I like that this music video has been shot somewhere different, the beach makes for a great location however I thinnk that the lighting is a large issue because its so unpridictable. The lighting in the inside part of the music video is a lot clearer in my personal opinion. I like how in this music video she has thought about the clothing portraying feeling. In this case she is wearing red to portray the look of fire, she is wearing it to create negative connotantions. However I think wearing red would look good in our video but with the connotations of love rather than fear.
