Feedback Improvements Attempt 2
After getting my target audiences opinions back I realised that my poster was lacking important details and style. I relooked at my research from actual magazine advertisements and decided to start over to make my advertisement the best it can be. Also I looked at the layout and decided this was the main aspect I wanted to concentrate on because it I don’t think the previous layout was appealing to the target audience. Therefore I want to make it more interesting to look at and to make sure it was eye catching enough to make someone listen to my artist’s music.
1.

I kept my original background image because I think that this works really well, she is also postioned in a great place for her to still be seen with text on the poster because I postioned her so she would be exactly on the first rule of third. The walls also work great for rulers with the text. I changed some of the bright parts of the photograph because they were distracting attention from the rest of the photograph. To do this I used a soft black brush on a 40% opasicty and painted over bright parts such as the walls.
2.

Next I used the curve tool to brighten my artist so that she is the main focus out of this photograph. I brought the graph up to make it a suttle light colour. Then I changed the mask to black and using a soft white paint brush I drew on where I wanted this light curve to be. Now the light from the candle looks brighter and lights up her face further.
3.

Next using the font I previously selected I wrote her name because this is the first most important part on this advertisement because it allows the fans to recoginse that this is a advertisement for her. I put this in the center but slightly more towards the left side because this is the darkest part of the photograph, I chose to put the font in white because it stands out the most against the background. I then used white lines to seperate the singles name so that it doesn't get confused with the artists name. I put this in a smaller font because it was less important than the name.
4.

Next I added quotes about the artist from influential people in the music industry that would make people have a good impression of my artist straight away. I chose to have these quotes by people that I think would comment on my artist because Lana Del Rey is a similar artist and Q Magazine is a magazine that would publish my artists advertisement or do a piece on her. Using a soft black brush on a 10% opasicty I went over the ends of the text to add a slight gradient, this breaks up the block colouring slightly making the text more suttle and intresting.
5.

Next I added her record labels logo at the bottom because most artists display their record labels logo for advertisement reasons. I then added her website so that people can find out more information if they want to know more about my artist, it allows them to find out anything that isn't on the advertisement. Next I added that her first album is out now so that people know they can buy it straight away. I put this in a different more bold text so that it stands out and breaks up the text, again I used a soft black brush to add a slight gradient on this. Finally I added a tour date and place so people can go to watch her.
6.

The record labels logo was a different colour and blend mode on the digipak so I changed the blend mode of soft light to make it match.
7.

I then added that it was a bran new single above her name so that it would grab peoples attention.
8.

Next I added my artists album cover so that people will recoginse it, it also ties the digipak and advertisement together. I then wanted it to stand out more and look part of the advertisement so I went on the blending options and added an outer glow to add this shadowing effect around it.
9.

Finally I added the itunes logo over her single so that people know where they can buy this single from. I chose to put this logo on over somewhere like HMV because a lot more people buy their music online now rather than CD's, I felt like it fitted more with the people that would buy her music.
